On October 30, the first session of the Youth City Council was held at the Tychy City Hall.

As a result of the vote held at the school, our representatives in the YCC became Julia Luczun and Filip Albertynski. The newly elected councilors took their oaths of office. Julia was also elected vice-chairman of the YCC. Congratulations and good luck 😊.

On October 30, “Autumn Fears” took place at our school. This year, the Youth Council guaranteed everyone a “frighteningly” good time with fortune-telling, a contest for the best disguise, the outcome of which takes place on instagram @rmknieofficially, or thematic music that made the breaks pleasant.
In addition, the culinarily talented high school graduates provided their baked goods for the last fair of the “Pink Mondays” series.

On October 23-29, we hosted at our school a group of 14 students and teachers from the school “Institut Teresa Pamies” in Barcelona 😊 They came to us under the accreditation of the Erasmus+ program, so together we could explore the topic of mental health. In addition to a relaxation concert, we attended lectures on emotions and ways to combat stress. In addition, during a trip to Krakow, we conducted a street poll targeting different age groups, and in Zabnica, we looked for solutions to the problems the respondents talked about. We showed our guests beautiful and important places, visiting Katowice, Krakow, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum or the Tychy Sports Gallery. Above all, however, we took care of our mental health during sports activities (volleyball), through physical activity and contact with nature (numerous walks around Tychy, dancing together and a weekend trip to the mountains in Zabnica), and most importantly by making great friends, which we will certainly take care of and which will result in future meetings 😊 It was a very intense but unforgettable week. We already miss our Spanish friends….

Unquestionably the best chess players in Tychy 😊

Our school hosted the City Championship in chess, as part of the high school sports competition. The competition was attended by 8 high schools (including II LO, III LO, ZS No. 1, ZS No. 4, ZS No. 5, ZS No. 6, Technikum No. 2 and our representation).

The competition was played on an each-against-all system. Each school fielded a team of four, which played a total of 28 games. Noteworthy is the fact that our team won 26 duels, 1 game was tied, recording only one lost game. Thus, in the final classification, it decisively won this year’s competition and was promoted to the district competition.

Our team : Nadia Komorowska, Maciej Mróz, Szymon Wysocki, Cyprian Damilak and Dawid Wójcik.

On October 10-12, 2023, students of the graduating classes went on a sightseeing trip as part of the project “Get to know Poland.” During the trip, the students learned a lot about the early history of the Polish State and visited many interesting open-air museums. They visited Gniezno, Kórnik, Ostrów Tumski and Poznań, among others. They all came back satisfied and ready to repeat matriculation 🙂 The students were supervised by Ms. Iwona Wrzos-Stefan and Ms. Anita Bartosz.

Today ended a ten-day (from September 30 to October 9, 2023) Polish-German youth exchange entitled. “Oberhausen in Tychy 2023: Europeans integrated through similarities and multiculturalism.” Participants in the project learned about family life, school and the city of Tychy. The main goals of the project, besides testing language skills in the most natural environment, were to gain a broader perspective on the world, develop sensitivity to cultural similarities and differences, deepen understanding of common ideas and values, as well as break stereotypes and establish international relations.

Nina Solarczyk success

Nina Solarczyk, a student of class I c, took part in the national stage of the XXV Major Marek Gajewski Historical Contest “The fate of the soldier and the history of the Polish Armed Forces from 1887 to 1922. She started the competition as a student of Wilhelm Gawlikowicz Primary School in Bojszowice and finished it as a student of Kruczek. We congratulate Nina and wish her further success.
