Form 2d2 and the first day of autumn

Beautiful autumn weather fosters mountain school trips and that’s why 2d2 students went to… Hala Boracza (just for a change :)). As they are brave walkers, after having eaten delicious blueberry buns, they decided to hit the road and reach Prusów, too. They were accompanied by a dog called Pimpek.
The group came back home tired but satisfied after covering 13 kilometres. That was a really special beginning of autumn!

New Erasmus + projects!!

We have great news for you ?. We have just learned that for the next two years we will be implementing further Erasmus+ school cooperation projects. Our two applications have just been accepted ??? One project is entitled “IGO ECO- Respect and Care about the Earth” and will be implemented with partners from Greece (Sifnos), Spain (Barcelona), Italy (Siena), Romania (Bacau) and Turkey (Istanbul) ?. The second project entitled “Women power – raising awareness” brings together schools from Romania (Pitesti), the Czech Republic (České Budějovice), Italy (Vieste) and Turkey (Samsun) ?.
PS/ And so as a reminder and encouragement to participate in the projects, we are sending a video from the Comenius project (2013-2015), which still results in friendships and cooperation with other European schools ???

International Day of Mother Tongue

On 21st February we celebrated the International Day Of Mother Tongue. On this occasion we were honoured to host Dr. Ewa Ficek, a fellow in the Zakład Lingwistyki i Dyskursu Uniwersytetu Śląskiego, and the president of Stowarzyszenie Przyjaciół Instytutu Języka Polskiego UŚ “Via Lingue”. The 1st grade students had an opportunity to attend two lectures : ‘Do Tych (Tychów) ze szczebrzeszynianką po nowe lewisy? O nazwach własnych I pospolitych uwag kilka’ and ‘Z polszczyzną za pan brat, czyli o normie, błędach i zwyczaju językowym raz jeszcze’.

Thanks to those lectures, our students could not only enlarge their knowledge on the origins and the original meaning of some Silesian words, but were also able to solve some problems connected with linguistic correctness. Besides, students dealt with the rules of complicated Polish orthography writing a dictation prepared especially for this occasion,. We hope that the rules of Polish spelling didn’t cause the participants too much trouble.

We feel the passing of human life most painfully when someone we knew well, whom we were friends with, whom we loved.

In our hearts we say goodbye to our friend and pupil – Natalia Ptaszek.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with family and friends!

NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY IN Kruczek

This year we have combined the celebrations of the National Independence Day with the Silesian Day. In this way we wanted to celebrate the 101st anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence and the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First Silesian Uprising.

The celebrations began with the School Tournament of Silesian Debates, whose thesis was: It’s easy to love Upper Silesia. Eight teams from first class took part in the tournament. Teams representing I ce-n, I d1-n, I e and I e-n were qualified to the semi-final. The semi-final and the final took place on 14 November. The final thesis was: The Silesian Uprisings brought more benefits to the Second Republic than to Upper Silesia. The winner of the first prize was a team from class Ie: Zuzanna Jarlaczyńska, Kinga Krokosz, Jakub Mazurowski and Natalia Stasica. Second place was taken by the team from the I e-n class: Przemysław Jasiński, Szymon Pawlus, Marta Staniczek and Anna Waszyńska. The book awards for the finalists were funded by the Parents’ Council.

The initiator of the tournament was Mrs. Lucyna Staniczek. The celebrations were accompanied by songs from the Silesian Uprising period performed by students of our school and a presentation of Upper Silesia – land and people presented in the Silesian dialect by Natalia Nowak.
