On Friday 9th November 2018 our school celebrated the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence. The celebrations opened up with a concert prepared by our students and Mrs Lucyna Staniczek.

After that, the first round of the Tournament of Oxford Debates took place. Its participants had to prove that “Polish uprisings in19th century weren’t national uprisings” – or that they, in fact, were. The tournament continued on 13th November. Classes 1D1 and 1C managed to get into the final round.

Some of the students dressed up in the ‘20s and ‘30s fashion.

There were also two contests held on that day – the Polish Patriotic Poetry contest and the Polish Patriotic Art contest.

On 11th November our headmistress  Mrs Joanna Wojtynek and members of school council took part in a mass for our country and a march from the St. Marie Magdalene church to the City Hall, led by the marching band KWK Piast, The unveiling of the Monument of Independence also took place on that day.
